Detroit Dog Rescue

This June, we proudly spotlight Detroit Dog Rescue in memory of our beloved Dolores Coates and her kind heart for all, but especially for animals in need.

Founded in 2011, Detroit Dog Rescue is the city’s first no-kill shelter, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Detroit’s stray and abandoned dogs. The nonprofit focuses on humane solutions such as adoption, foster care, spay/neuter programs, and community education. DDR also partners with local law enforcement and city agencies to respond to calls and raise awareness about Detroit’s stray dog crisis.
